Roll Out the Beryl

“Halloa, Beryl!” [HOUN]

In The Hound of the Baskervilles, Sir Henry falls for Stapleton's sister, who was said to be “a young lady of attractions.” However, Stapleton clearly didn't like the idea of the two of them together.   At the conclusion of the story, with Stapleton out of the picture, what was there to stop her and Sir Henry from becoming romantically involved?
